In the Nissan GTP class, the race was defined by the collapse of early leaders. Ferran S. Grau controlled the front of the field for 22 laps before a crash ended his bid for victory, ultimately relegating him to a P6 finish with two recorded incidents. Similarly, Josefine Becker held a P2 position during a 12-lap stint near the front, but suffered nine incidents that forced her out of contention, resulting in a P5 finish. Laust Olsen, who started in P2, capitalized on these departures to take the lead on lap 22. He maintained his position to complete 30 laps with four incidents, securing the class victory. Lance Simon moved from a P8 start to finish P2, completing 30 laps with zero incidents. Ben Summers rounded out the podium in P3 after 26 laps and two incidents. The Audi 90 GTO class saw a more stable performance from the front-runners. Joni Hagner utilized his pole position start to lead the class, completing 28 laps with two incidents to secure the win. Andreas Schuster, starting from P3, successfully navigated the race without any incidents to finish in the P2 position. Ilkka Kotisalo, who began the race in P2, maintained a clean run with zero incidents to finish third, completing the same 28-lap distance as the class leader. Beyond the podium finishers, the race featured significant movement through the field. Lance Simon’s climb from the back of the Nissan GTP grid to a P2 finish represented the most significant gain in the class, advancing six positions. In the Audi 90 GTO category, Emilio Dicharri demonstrated strong pace by gaining five positions over the course of the event. Despite the high number of incidents among the Nissan GTP front-runners, the field remained competitive throughout the 30-lap duration at the Detroit Grand Prix circuit.
